GIS: Does it mean Geographic Information Systems or Get It Surveyed ?

Both! We firmly believe that the development of a usable and effective GIS is completely dependent on an accurate base map that is referenced to monuments of the National Geodetic Survey.

We also believe the most effective base map is the digital orthophoto. The inherent value of orthographically rectified and scaled aerial photography shows us "what is there".  All layers of data that will be overlaid on the orthophoto can be entered into the GIS to produce a truly accurate, functional and pictorial electronic map. And the aerial imagery can be updated at any future date without the need to restructure any of the data layers.

An accurate GIS base map can be likened to the base of the Great Pyramid ... it is still standing after thousands of years because it was constructed on a solid base. This is the way all GIS systems construction should be approached. If the base is Geodetically solid, then all the data layers, when appropriately referenced to the same base coordinates, will fit! Avoid inserting data of unknown accuracy into your data base!
